Adare Manor Golf Club
About Adare Manor Golf Club
Adare Manor Golf Club occupies the historic Old Course beside the village of Adare in County Limerick, close to the castle and medieval abbey ruins. Its roots reach back to 1900, when a nine-hole layout designed by Ben Sayers opened on the Dunraven estate. The present 18-hole parkland course was designed by Eddie Hackett and opened in 1992. Mature trees, heritage landmarks and a compact, strategic layout give the course a different character from the nearby Adare Manor resort championship course. Visitors and societies are welcomed alongside an established membership, with a golf shop, professional coaching and clubhouse facilities supporting the golfing experience.
Course Information
The Old Course is an 18-hole, par-69 parkland layout running to 5,807 yards from its white tees. Eddie Hackett’s 1992 design uses mature trees, subtle changes in direction and the historic estate landscape to create a test that places a premium on positioning. The ruins of Desmond Castle and the old Franciscan Abbey add an unusual backdrop to several holes. A particular feature is the uphill par-three 14th, played near the abbey ruins. This is the historic members’ course, not the separate resort championship course.
