Ardglass Golf Club
About Ardglass Golf Club
Ardglass Golf Club sits above the Irish Sea in the County Down fishing village of Ardglass, where its links holes follow an exposed, dramatic stretch of coastline. The club was established in 1896, and its course has developed from a compact early layout into an 18-hole test shaped by wind, uneven ground and clifftop views. The historic clubhouse occupies a building dating to 1405, giving the venue an unusually strong connection to local heritage. Ardglass welcomes travelling golfers and societies, subject to member-reserved tee times, and offers professional coaching, a well-stocked shop and clubhouse dining. It is among Northern Ireland’s independently ranked links courses.
Course Information
Ardglass is a coastal links course where holes follow the contours of the shoreline and wind direction can change the demands of each shot. The opening hole, Lamb’s Lough, immediately exposes players to the sea, while Howd’s Hole is a short par three and the final hole, Cowd’s Castle, brings the round back towards the historic clubhouse. Tight approaches, natural slopes and coastal hazards reward control rather than distance alone. Published yardages and par differ between third-party scorecards, so tee-specific figures should be confirmed before replacing the main course numbers.
